NMRID Scholarships and Awards Committee

The New Mexico Registry for Interpreters for the Deaf has established a Scholarship Awards Committee with a Board selected chair.  The Committee’s tasks are to determine application criteria, advertise opportunities, solicit applications, make award determinations, disperse awards, and monitor the service exchange, as agreed upon.

The following scholarships and stipends are available:
  • Three stipends annually of $250.00 to attend the Region IV or National RID conference
  • Two scholarships of $40 to participate in the New Mexico Mentoring Program awarded twice per year
  • one annual scholarship to cover the cost of taking or re-taking the National Interpreter Certification or the Certifed Deaf Interpreter exam.
All scholarships and stipends require membership in NMRID by January 1 of the year in which they are applying.  All scholarships and stipends are open to any deaf or hearing NMRID member, certified or non-certified.  Please contact Leah Ekrut for information and applications.  For more information, the following files are available.:
